People have been salmon fishing for hundreds of years in Älvkarleby and salmon play a very big role here. A lot of salmon are still fished here, and the biggest – 27.97 kilos – was caught here in 1996. Älvkarleby has one of Sweden’s absolute best sea trout and salmon fishing waters.
